12-year-old Kota boy beaten by teacher dies of `depression´

KOTA: Five days after being allegedly thrashed by a schoolteacher, a 12-year-old student of a private school in the city died during treatment at a hospital on Sunday. Following the death, his parents claimed that their son died of `depression`. Mahaveernagar Police registered a case and have initiated a probe into the matter. The child, identified as Mohan, was studying in Class Vat Jyotiba Senior Secondary School in Rangbadi area. Mohan`s parents, however, alleged that he went into depression and developed fever after being thrashed by a schoolteacher Ramniwas Nagar, for not completing his homework....
